Sara Moein Portrait.jpeg

Sara Moein, PhD - Research Associate

Sara is experienced in developing and applying machine learning and optimization algorithms on genetics and healthcare data for knowledge discovery. Predicting the outcome of healthcare procedures, modeling gene behavior, and discovering associations between genetic defects and diseases are among her research interests.

Mirca Saras Saurty-Seerunghen, PhD - Post-doctoral fellow

Mirca’s PhD work focused on single-cell transcriptomics data analysis and experimental validation for discovery of targetable metabolism enzymes in cancer. She is interested in uncovering the cell fate decisions in hematopoietic neoplasms by linking cell state and genetic lineage histories in single cells.

Minwoo Pak, PhD - Post-doctoral fellow

Minwoo received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science & Engineering, focusing on the development of machine learning and deep learning methods for analyzing multi-omics data. He hopes to further enhance his expertise in analyzing single-cell multi-omics data, aiming to build a strong foundation in this area. He has a strong passion for embracing new and innovative approaches, and he enjoys the process of working with new data and growing through it.

Danielle Isakov - MD/PhD Student

Danielle is a Tri-Institutional MD/PhD student from the Incoming Class of 2020. She graduated from Princeton with a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and a certificate in Global Health. When not in lab, you can find her drinking coffee, getting through her stack of unread books, and exploring her home city with her new puppy Mars.

Chhiring Lama, BA - Computational Research Assistant

Chhiring is a graduate from Smith College, where she completed Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Statistical & Data Science. She intends to pursue a graduate degree in Public Health with a focus on Biostatistics and Epidemiology. She is very excited to be living in NYC and exploring all that the city has to offer.

Olivia Sakaguchi, BA - Lab Manager & Research Assistant

Olivia is a graduate of Princeton University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology with a certificate in Global Health and Health Policy. She hopes to explore her interests in immunology and genomics before eventually pursuing an MD/PhD degree. When not in lab, you can find her cooking, reading, or exploring the city.

Tsega-Ab Abera, BS - Computational Research Assistant

Tsega-Ab is a graduate of Davidson College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology. He is looking forward to exploring the field of cancer biology using bioinformatics before eventually heading on to graduate school. He is also very excited to be living in NYC for its diversity of culture.

Rimsha Khalid - Volunteer Research Assistant

Rimsha is a current undergraduate student studying Human Biology at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College. She is pursuing her interests in cellular biology and immunology with the intentions of pursuing an MD degree. Outside of the lab she enjoys baking, volunteering, and exploring the city.
